Singapore’s always-warm weather allows you to have a picnic whenever you wish. It’s an excellent place to enjoy a relaxing outdoor supper with your loved ones without spending a dollar! Singapore has a variety of attractive sites to visit, whether you prefer city parks or beaches. Check out our guide to pick the best picnic spot for you.
East Coast Park – East Coast Park in Singapore is the go-to spot for picnics with your crew. It’s got plenty of room for chilling out and having a fancy picnic without having to fight for space. If you want a peaceful picnic spot, we recommend checking out the area between F2 and F3 parks. You can kick back, watch planes or clouds drift by, and enjoy some peace and quiet. And after your picnic, take a stroll through the nearby bougainvillaea garden for a little dose of nature.
West Coast Park – West Coast Park is a vast and lovely area ideal for family picnics and exploration. You can enjoy the sea view or look at the lovely hibiscus bushes. If you want to remain overnight, there are camping areas accessible. And if you become hungry late at night, there is a McDonald’s nearby where you can buy some hamburgers and fries.
Sengkang Riverside Park – Sengkang Riverside Park, up in the Northeast, has some great views of Sungei Punggol, one of Sengkang’s main rivers. It’s a perfect place to escape to nature when the weather’s nice. You can chill out on the big grassy areas and have a picnic while checking out some cool wildlife like turtles, lovebirds, and maybe even some otters. Just remember to bring a rug or mat since there aren’t many benches or gazebos in the park.
Kallang Riverside Park – This park right next to the Kallang River has a sick view of the Singapore National Stadium. You can do all sorts of stuff here like walking your dog, jogging, water sports, flying drones, and even dragon boat racing. Plus, it’s connected to the Kallang Wave Mall, so you can easily grab some snacks. There’s plenty of grassy spots for a chill picnic, especially by the river.
Punggol Waterway Park – Although camping is not permitted at Punggol Waterway Park, you can have a relaxing midnight picnic to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The park is very pleasant, with plenty of area for walking, riding, and well-kept walkways. Grab some food and chill out at Nature Cove Gardens by the water, then take a leisurely walk along Sunrise Bridge or the Heritage Zone. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature.
HortPark – HortPark is great for family picnics because it has special play areas and cool stuff for kids to get in touch with nature. The big lawn is perfect for taking awesome Instagram pics with your fam. You can bring your own food and have a nice meal in certain spots, or you can just grab some tasty food from Canopy HortPark and chow down in the beautiful surroundings. Enjoy!
Jurong Lake Gardens – To chill out after a rough week at work, we love hanging out at Jurong Lake Gardens in the west. It’s like a huge nature park right in the middle of Singapore, covering 90 hectares. It’s designed for families and locals to have a good time. You can do stuff like have a picnic, read a book, or just kick back and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Coney Island Park – Coney Island Park is, like, totally eco-friendly. They use fallen tree wood for signs, benches, and the boardwalk, giving it a chill rustic vibe with cool beaches and wildlife. If you want a nice breeze from the sea, head over to the West Promenade. You can see the water, Pulau Ubin, and ships from far away. And if you want some privacy for a picnic without getting sand everywhere, check out Beach Area D or E further east. So rad, right?
Fort Canning Park – Fort Canning Park is a great place to chill with its cool history. It used to be where Malay kings lived and where Singapore gave up to the Japanese. Grab your picnic stuff and hit up the hills for a workout before chowing down. They also have awesome concerts so you can time your picnic with your fave bands.
